Art History - Georgian Ireland

Aim: To learn about Georgian Architecture, the most notable architects of the time, architectural features and the life at the time through discussion, exercises, presentations and homework. This UoL was delivered through slideshow presentations, sketching and writing exercises, essay writing, practical tasks and quizzes.

Supports: Activity sheets, handouts, group quizzes, practical tasks, glossary of terms.

Assessment style: Formative & summative (Activity sheets, quizzes, essay planning and writing, continuous feedback on work)

  1. Understand the marking scheme for Leaving Cert Georgian questions

  2. Understand the timeline of Georgian Ireland and know what life was like at the time

  3. Identify the key features of Georgian architecture (internal and external)

  4. Complete an activity identifying Georgian features.
