Accordion Books - 1st Years

Aim: To create an artist book in an accordion format filled with a body of work made by experimenting with printmaking processes and collage based on the theme of ‘A few of my favourite things’.
Stimulus: Primary Objects & Found Images (Magazines)

Lesson 3 - Collage Head
At the end of this lesson learners should be able to…
Demonstrate an understanding of collage and photomontage.
Create a visually interesting collage based on the theme ‘A few of my favourite things’.
Demonstrate confidence in their own abilities as creative agents through choices in collage design.
Describe and discuss the work of support artists
Display of student work in the classroom.
Lessons included: Collage, Drawing, Design, Print (stamping & collagraph), Accordion book making, Painting, Curation of work, Display.
Students chose elements from their collage heads and used them to create a design for their collagraph plate, which they would use to make prints.
